Merope is centered around the singing and kanklės of the Lithuanian Indrė Jurgelevičiūtė. It is an excellent example of Lithuanian folk influences that have found a permanent place in the global ocean of experimental music. Merope's unique atmospheric aesthetic interweaves elements of electronic, ambient and traditional music into a soundscape that is both local and universal.
For their fourth album 'Salos' (Stroom, 2021), Merope was accompanied by Vilnius chamber choir 'Jauna Muzika' led by Vaclovas Augustinas.
